With over 30 years of legal experience, Beadie has tirelessly worked to advance Native Hawaiian issues on the social, political, legal and philanthropic fronts. She has spearheaded legislative working groups to provide federal recognition for all Native Hawaiians, and has worked with and collaborated with the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Department of the Interior on measures necessary for the reconciliation between the United States government and the Native Hawaiian people. Beadie is also an experienced real estate and business attorney having litigated cases involving contract disputes, condemnation, construction, and complex commercial disputes. Prior to joining Settle Meyer Law, Beadie was the Deputy Attorney General for the State of Hawai‘i from 1982 to 1996.
Beadie is also currently the President and Director of Hawaiian Native Corporation, a nonprofit organization which aims to foster minority-ownership of businesses and supports a variety of Native Hawaiian causes. In addition, Beadie is the former Chief Executive Officer of Dawson Group, Inc., which is an environmental remediation, construction and information technology company that recently graduated as a super 8(a) Native Hawaiian Organization-owned firm under the U.S. Small Business Administration minority-owned business program. Prior to attending law school, Beadie established a career as a public relations officer with the Hawai‘i State Department of Social Services and Housing, directing media and public communications for the state agency.
